UNIFIED CONTROL SYSTEM
PURPOSE
Unified Control System (UCS) is a software package for controlling of industrial equipment using standard computer hardware (PC) and operating system (Windows NT/2000/XP).

COMPOSITION
Electrical devices (sensors, actuators, motors, etc.) are connected through relay modules to the PC controller. UCS reads electrical signals coming from devices, analyses them, makes intelligent decisions and sends control signals to electrical devices.
In addition to performing control tasks UCS also gathers statistical information. UCS comes with a Graphical User Interface (GUI) that can run both locally on a factory floor and remotely in control rooms or maintenance offices. GUI allows user to monitor system status, view statistical data and modify system configuration parameters online.

PROPERTIES
The main design concept that distinguishes UCS from existing PC based control packages is a focus on open interfaces and extendibility.
Open IO card interface allows 3rd party providers to extend UCS by adding support for new IO interface cards.
In addition to standard Java based UCS GUI customised user interface programs can be created to accommodate industry specific needs.
UCS features a 100% Object Oriented Design. This gives us an advantage of reusability and extendibility compared to other industrial control packages.
Standard UCS provides conveyor control modules and Ladder Logic interpreter. End user can use, extend them or develop the new ones for any other area of industrial automation.

POSSIBLE CO-OPERATION
Cooperation preferred with manufacturers of mechanical or electrical equipment or system integrators who would incorporate UCS as a part of their solution.
